Garden Club @ Sunnyside was born from parent support and student enthusiasm. Garden Club members are a critical part of Sunnyside’s garden, they do most of the maintenance. Students learn about gardening techniques and science through hands on activities in a K-5 group.

Insect Hotels

Garden Club used recycled materials to build insect homes. Our goal was to attract beneficial insects to our garden. We entered this project into the Carton2Garden competition.

Fungi City

Inspired by mushroom propagation, students observed microscopic visuals of fungi networks. We used these networks as inspiration to design a model city, complete with transportation, production and habitation units. Check out more photographs of our process at  SUNNYSIDE GARDEN CLUB .
